Exam

What is a PMP Exam 2026: What's New?

The 2026-era PMP continues three domains — People, Process, Business Environment — with roughly half of questions set in agile or hybrid contexts, and sharpens several emphases: value delivery and realization (decisions judged by value, not plan compliance), AI literacy (using AI as a PM tool; governing AI in deliverables), sustainability and ESG awareness in the business environment, and continued weight on servant leadership, emotional intelligence, and stakeholder collaboration over command-and-control.

Preparation implication: memorizing formulas still buys a handful of questions; the bulk are situational judgment — the mindset patterns (value first, people first, evaluate before acting, escalate at the right level) decide your score.

Worked example

A representative new-style question: your AI forecasting tool predicts a two-week slip, your team disputes the data, and the sponsor wants an answer today. The tested skill isn't the tool — it's the sequence: validate the prediction against reality with the team, understand the driver, then brief the sponsor with options. AI changed the scenario's furniture; the judgment being examined is the same one PMI has always prized.
