Leadership

What is Servant Leadership?

Servant leadership inverts the traditional pyramid: the leader's job is to serve the team — removing impediments, shielding focus, growing people, and creating the conditions for the team to solve its own problems, rather than directing from above.

It's tested constantly on both the PMP and PMI-ACP: when a team struggles, the servant leader makes the problem visible and facilitates the team's own diagnosis instead of imposing a fix. Answers where the leader unilaterally decides and announces are usually the distractors.
