What is Retrospective?

The retrospective is the recurring meeting — end of every sprint — where the team inspects its own process: what went well, what didn't, and what specific improvement to attempt next. It's the team examining how it works, distinct from the review, which examines the product.

The professional standard is one concrete, committed improvement per retrospective, and psychological safety as the precondition — a retro where people can't speak honestly produces theater, not improvement.
