What is Business Case?

The business case is the document that justifies the investment: the problem or opportunity, the options considered, the cost/benefit analysis of each scenario, and the recommendation. It's created before the project and — the part people forget — remains a living reference for whether the effort still makes sense.

On PMP and PgMP scenarios where circumstances change dramatically mid-flight, revisiting the business case ("is this still worth doing?") frequently outranks pressing on with delivery.
