A Major Milestone for Me and the PMLearning Community
I’m excited to share some incredible news with you.
My name — Adel Farid, PMP, PMI-RMP, PMI-CAPM — is officially listed by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a contributor and reviewer of the PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition, the world’s most trusted guide for project management professionals.
This is a huge honor and a proud moment not only for me personally, but for PMLearning.org and everyone who has been part of this journey.
The Most Community-Informed PMBOK Update Ever
The PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition is unlike any previous version.
PMI gathered insights from thousands of practitioners, analyzed 48,000+ data points, and collaborated with experts around the globe to create the most research-backed edition in the guide’s history.
Being part of that global review team means a lot to me — it represents years of dedication to helping project managers grow, improve, and deliver results.
What Makes the 8th Edition Different?
Building on the strong foundation of the Seventh Edition, the new PMBOK update brings even more clarity and practical guidance. PMI refined and simplified the structure so professionals can apply concepts directly to real-world projects — whether traditional, agile, or hybrid.
The Eighth Edition includes:
✔ Six core principles
Clear, actionable principles that shape effective project management behaviors.
✔ Seven performance domains
Covering the key areas every project manager must master.
✔ Expanded topics for today’s world
Including:
-
AI in project management
-
PMOs and organizational strategy
-
Modern procurement
-
Reintroduced process guidance in a fresh, non-prescriptive format
Together, these updates help project managers connect why projects matter, what needs to be delivered, and how to deliver meaningful results.
Why This Edition Matters
Today’s project managers must be more flexible, more strategic, and more value-driven than ever before.
The PMBOK® Guide – Eighth Edition reflects that reality.
It helps professionals:
-
Deliver value, not just outputs
-
Adapt to constant change
-
Make informed decisions
-
Lead confidently across any project environment
Whether you’re leading a large transformation, managing a small initiative, or navigating hybrid delivery, this guide brings clarity and confidence to modern project work.
